The Deep South ERC consisted of the Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Department of Industrial Engineering, College of Engineering, at Auburn University. A significant accomplishment during the period from 1988 through 1993 was the establishment of an occupational medicine residency program. During the project period the ERC graduated 115 students, 111 with master's and four with doctoral degrees.
