  Representatives of 17 nations attended the VII International Congress of Rural Medicine held in Salt Lake City, Utah. During the 4 day meeting, 70 scientific papers dealing with occupational safety, health, and rural health concerns were presented. Copies of these reports have been distributed to interested personnel. The conference was deemed to have been successful for several reasons. First, correspondence since the conference has indicated satisfactory ratings by various conference participants. Second, requests have been received from interested persons not in attendance for copies of the presented research. Third, several requests have been received from abroad for aid in the occupational safety and health area. Fourth, requests have been received for personnel at the Institute to attend conferences and meetings elsewhere and to participate at these gatherings. Fifth, pilot programs in occupational safety and health for developing nations have been prepared by Institute personnel at the request of the International Labour Office and the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Sixth, the VIIth conference was being planned to be held in France in 1981. A listing was provided of locations to which complimentary copies of the proceedings of this conference were distributed.
