  This report describes a unique radio frequency telemetry system to enable the simultaneous remote monitoring of up to eight methane sensors positioned on a continuous-mining machine. The system employs medium frequency wireless radio transmission and the coupling of induced radio frequency currents into the miner trailing cables. The system is automatic and unattended and provides continuous hard copy recording of the sensor levels. The system employs serial digital transmission of the data under microprocessor control using frequency shift keying modulation. [Description provided by NIOSH]
