Description:A method is described for the determination of carbon-disulfide (75150) in a known volume of air drawn through a charcoal tube to trap the organic vapors present. The charcoal in the tube is transferred to a small, stoppered sample container, and the analyte is desorbed with benzene. Data are given on the principle, range and sensitivity, interference, precision, accuracy, advantages and disadvantages of the method. Also described are the apparatus, reagents, and procedure used; analysis of samples; determination of desorption efficiency; calibration and standards, and calculations. The OSHA standard ceiling is 30ppm of carbon-disulfide (peak 100ppm; 8 hour time weighted average is 20ppm). (Contract No. 099-74-45) [Description provided by NIOSH]
