Description:This final report for a contract calling for the development of a hazard process index for 150 selected hazards provides a description of each of the five volumes which comprise the index itself, along with a list of the substances studied. These five volumes are: hazard process index, process reference index, schematic and flowsheet appendix, synonym list, and key word list. The hazard process index gives physical properties, production figures, toxicity, manufacturing process, use process and a bibliography for each of the 150 hazards. The process reference index describes each of the processes in detail so as to make the entire sequence events and general physical setup of the process clearly evident. The schematic and flowsheet appendix contains schematics of the processes that are sufficiently complex to warrant more detailed, diagrammatic presentation. The synonym list gives common names, trade names, and alternate names for each of the materials. The key word list is a cross reference of the chemicals contained as reactants, products, by-products or catalysts in the process reference index.
