Description:Review of coal workers' pneumoconiosis based on X-ray findings in Public Health Service studies of the prevalence of the disease. Topics include classification by X-ray, 1963 to 1965 studies, National Study of Coal Workers' Pneumoconiosis, and plans for future studies. Data are given for distribution of mines in the National Study and the degree of participation, and prevalence of the disease in various states. Comparison is made between the findings of the National Study and those of previous studies. [Description provided by NIOSH]
