  Industrial hygiene practices in the Celanese Fibers Company facility in South Carolina and worker exposure to methylene-chloride (75092) are investigated. Current literature on the toxicological effects of methylene-chloride was summarized, and the workplace, job types, and industrial hygiene and safety precautions are described. Methylene-chloride exposure as a function of job type is described, and analytical procedures for the collection and analysis of methylene-chloride and acetone (67641) are identified. Sampling results and NIOSH's analytical method for the determination of methylene-chloride in air are appended. [Description provided by NIOSH]
