The potential hazards associated with poor maintenance or improper use of protection equipment is discussed. The numbers and percent of different types of facilities that required personal protective devices are listed. The accident statistics in which these devices may have been a factor are presented. The existing codes and regulations for personal protective equipment usage are presented.
