Description:An industrial hygiene survey was conducted at the Edison Benzol Products Facility (SIC-2865) of the Stauffer Chemical Company in Edison, New Jersey on October 7, 1976 to determine if a more detailed study was needed to qualify worker exposure to benzyl- chloride (100447). Of the approximately 150 employees, approximately 15 had possible exposure to benzyl-chloride. Atmospheric samples taken contained relatively low concentrations of benzyl-chloride (no numerical values given). The author recommends that a more detailed study be conducted including limited personal monitoring. [Description provided by NIOSH]
