Description:Test results using the NIOSH analytical method S14 for 2-pivalyl-1,3- indandione (83261) are reported. The technique involved collection on a polytetrafluoroethylene membrane filter and tenax-GC resin, desorption in methanol, and analysis by high pressure liquid chromatography using an ultraviolet detector at 285 nanometers. Analytical equipment, reagents and procedures are described. Recovery and stability data is included. The method was unsatisfactory due to instability of the chemical particulates on the filter.
