Description:The use of spark source mass spectrometry for the analysis of biological samples is evaluated. The samples are described along with preparation procedures. The use of internal standards in the analysis of liquids, biological samples, and air filter samples is described. Mass analysis photoplate results are presented. Electrical detection scanning, switching methods, and photoplate precision are discussed. The accuracy and precision in spark source mass spectrometry are compared to that of atomic absorption spectrophotometry and emission spectroscopy. [Description provided by NIOSH]
