Description:Electrowinning of zinc is accomplished by electrolysis of a molten mixture of zncl2 and kcl-nacl eutectic at 450 deg-550 deg c by using a molten zinc cathode at 2-10 a/in2. The current efficiency is 97 pct and the energy consumption is 1.2 Kw-h/lb zn. [Description provided by NIOSH]
