Description:This report summarizes the design and construction of two portable, battery-powered air monitors for the toxic gases CO and NO2 and for oxygen deficiency in working places in underground mines including coal mines. The device uses commercially available electrochemical transducers and features audible and visual alarms with adjustable threshold levels. It can run continuously for 30 hours from batteries before recharging if necessary.
