Six workshops were held on the following subjects: research priorities for mining-oriented universities, r&d needs for surface coal mining, r&d needs for deep coal mining, r&d needs for anthracite coal mining, r&d needs for coal mine health and safety, and r&d needs for environmental control in coal mining.
