  Worker exposures to solvents were determined at Hanco Art and Novelty Company (SIC-2751) in Bronx, New York, on January 30 and 31, and February 1, 1979. The company was included in a NIOSH industrial hygiene survey to characterize the screen printing industry. The work force varied between 30 and 50 employees. Solvent concentrations in all areas were below OSHA standards and NIOSH recommendations. The author concludes that all workers were exposed to low concentrations of solvents. He recommends improvements in ink and solvent storage, better work habits, and general awareness of influential factors to improve safety, efficiency, and comfort of the workers.
