  A walk through survey of worker exposure to potentially hazardous agents in the Corning Glass Work facility in Wilmington, North Carolina is reviewed. The structure and products of the facility are summarized. The thin film resistor manufacturing process is described. The work force characteristics, the medical, health, and safety programs, the company policies, the recordkeeping systems, and the workers compensation programs are discussed. The industrial hygiene practices of ventilation, equipment maintenance and operation, and waste disposal are reviewed. The authors recommend that the facility launder the chemical handling employees' work clothers, that ventilation system be installed on the silver banding machine, that air monitoring be conducted in specific areas, that a general maintenance program be adopted for the ventilation systems and that chemical spills be cleaned only by personnel trained in chemical handling.
