Description:Washington State Fatality Assessment More truck drivers died on the job than workers in any other occupation. Five Occupations with the Most Worker Deaths: Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers. Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse. Fishers and Related Fishing Workers. Tree Trimmers and Pruners. Logging Tree Fallers. 14% of all workers who died on the job were truck drivers. Over half of truck drivers died in motor vehicle crashes while inside their trucks (n=55). 39% of truck drivers died while outside of their trucks (n=36): 14 were struck by other vehicles. 6 were rolled over or into by their own trucks.
