Description:Using steps in the Iowa Model of Evidence-Based Practice, nursing staff developed and piloted a standardized shift report tool on one medical-surgical unit in a large tertiary care hospital. Pilot outcomes showed shift reports with decreased frequency of missed information, fewer delays in shift starting time, and less use of overtime. [Description provided by NIOSH]
