Description:Recent field and laboratory results related to the use of water sprays and ventilation in the control of dust at the mine face are presented. Optimization of water sprays for impaction and collection of airborne dust is discussed and guidelines presented. Exhausting versus blowing primary ventilation, dust collectors, several secondary exhaust ventilation systems, and a "throw" technique are discussed. [Description provided by NIOSH]
