Description:Preliminary research indicates that interactive, computer-based tools can provide effective safety training for mine workers. These tools can be tailored to meet the needs of individual mines while remaining cost effective and relatively easy to use. The mining industry has shown initial support for this type of technology as a safety training tool. Further objective testing is required before the effectiveness of these tools can be fully assessed. [Description provided by NIOSH]
