Description:The mission of the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Occupational Health & Safety Surveillance Program (OHSSP) was protecting and improving the health and safety of Iowans in the workplace. The program explored options to improve surveillance and data translation capacity, and provided analysis, dissemination and outreach functions to support the core surveillance activities including the Occupational Health Indicators (OHI) and Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology and Surveillance (ABLES). OHSSP also worked independently and with external partners on projects with state, regional and national significance. [Description provided by NIOSH]
