  The Purdue University Graduate Program in Industrial Hygiene, which offers programs at both the masters and doctoral levels, developed and expanded considerably in the past grant period. The overall goals of the program are to prepare students for advanced careers in Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety and Health, to contribute to the regional and national pool of highly skilled professionals in these fields, and to provide research and service in solving occupational health problems. During the period of performance of this grant the program added faculty, increased emollment, expanded the curriculum, initiated several new research projects, and obtained new funding for research. The program achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The achievements of the faculty and students are demonstrated by numerous works published and awards received during the grant period. New activities were initiated for student recruitment. The program received a merit award from the director of NIOSH. [Description provided by NIOSH]
