Description:The rubber industry employs hundreds of chemicals in a variety of processes, and reactions leading to potentially hazardous exposures can occur in multiple environments. Decomposition products from chemical reactions may account for many unknown exposures to potential carcinogens at various sites with excess of lung cancer, leukemia, and lymphomas having been described in certain occupational groups. As a result, control of exposures is an important preventive health issue. [Description provided by NIOSH]
