Description:Building and sustaining a health and safety program to protect nanomaterial workers will contribute to business success, develop public trust in the company, and in turn accelerate commercialization of nanomaterials. Effective risk management as part of the health and safety program requires four elements: hazard identification, exposure assessment, task and process analysis, and exposure control. As the business grows, the health and safety program can keep pace by applying the concept of Plan, Do, Check, Act. Sustainable growth in a socially responsible manner by small businesses making or using nanomaterials can afford them the opportunity to safely and responsibly move into advanced manufacturing.
