Description:To effectively meet the prenatal health needs of pregnant farmworkers and their fetuses, health care providers must be educated early and continuously in environmental and occupational health. Health care providers located in areas with farmworker populations must learn about their patient population. Inquiring about a pregnant farmworker's occupational history is an example of becoming more aware of the needs of this potentially high-risk and vulnerable population. [Description provided by NIOSH]
