Description:The authors gratefully acknowledge the extensive contributions, collaborations, critical reviews, and comments of our colleagues over many years, especially those of George J. Newton and Mark L. Maiello. Many decades of research at the U.S. Department of Energy's Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute made major contributions to the work reported here. Extensive collaborations within the Air Monitoring Users Group helped create the textbook Radioactive Air Sampling Methods, which provided a strong source of detail as well. The findings and conclusions in this report are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of Los Alamos National Laboratory or of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
