Description:Over the last several years, the rate of suicide has increased, and it is now the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. The construction industry has one of the highest suicide rates compared to other industries. Although there is no simple reason for this increase, learning the warning signs and how to reach out for help could save your life or the life of a co-worker. ... If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 911, take them to a nearby emergency room, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, or reach out to the CrisisText Line by texting "HELLO" to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor. They provide free and confidential support with trained counselors 24/7. [Description provided by NIOSH]
