Description:Each year 250 or more families will lose a loved one to silicosis. Workers in construction, agriculture, foundries, rock drilling, sandblasting, and mining are at risk. Protect your lungs if you work near or produce dust from silica-containing materials, rock, concrete, sand, and other masonry products. Tiny silica particles can become trapped in your lungs and cause a disease called silicosis. You and your employer can control silica dust by using dust control equipment.
