Health and Safety Guide for Textile Machinery Manufacturers

  A guide intended to assist in providing a safe and healthful work place by describing safe work practices and frequently encountered violations of health and safety standards for manufacturers of textile machinery or related parts and accessories is presented. Instructions are given for organizing a health and safety program, including employee training and identification of health and safety hazards. Frequent violations of safety regulations occur in these areas: 1) walking and working surface; 2) exits and exit markings; 3) environmental control; and 4) the handling of hazardous materials and tools. Recordkeeping requirements for manufacturers are given. Additional health and safety information resources available to the manufacturer are listed.
