  Tests are described of industrial safety spectacles with plastic lenses advertised as meeting the requirements of the ANSI Z87.1 standard. A general description of each test is included along with a presentation of the test results, including penetration and impact tests, luminous transmittance and haze tests, flammability test, refractive power test, flat and edge transverse tests, corrosion and disinfection tests, and water absorption tests. Seventeen individual models were tested and found to be in general compliance with the ANSI standard. [Description provided by NIOSH]
