Description:Document dealing specifically with the means by which NIOSH validated existing sampling and analytical procedures for monitoring employee exposure for each of the chemicals covered by the existing environmental exposure standards. Detailed information concerning laboratory evaluations is provided. The evaluation information in 216 individual Backup Data Reports provides detailed information on the Laboratory procedure and data from the validation. In addition, an introduction to the program and the statistical protocol used are also presented. The purpose of the validation program is to provide accurate personal sampling and analytical techniques in monitoring for non-compliance to the standard by OSHA, but it does not attempt to designate the sole procedure by which all worker exposure measurement must be done. The technical information presented supports the validation of the 216 sampling and analytical procedure by NIOSH. [Description provided by NIOSH]
