Description:Standard designed to protect the health and safety of employees exposed to propyl-alcohol for up to a 10-hour workday, 40-hour workweek over a working lifetime. Compliance with all sections of the standard should prevent adverse effects of isopropyl-alcohol (67630) on the health and safety of employees. Because exposure to carcinogens may occur in the manufacture of isopropyl-alcohol, special medical surveillance procedures and work practices are recommended for exposed employees. Occupational exposure to isopropyl-alcohol is defined as exposure at or above the one-half of the time-weighted average limit for isopropyl-alcohol. [Description provided by NIOSH]
