Description:This report describes a Bureau of Mines examination of beach deposits on the east shore of Bristol Bay in Alaska. The analytical results obtained on 125 samples from the deposits are presented. These results indicate that gold is associated with the black sands in local concentrations, which occasionally cover areas as large as 1 acre in size. The deposits were seldom more than 6 inches in thickness and the samples never exceeded 0.007 Ounce per ton in gold content. [Description provided by NIOSH]
