  The objective of this contract was to prepare a detailed, readily usable handbook on dust control techniques for longwall mining operations. Information was gathered from available literature and through contacts with industry and government personnel. The handbook describes those methods of dust control applicable to today's longwall mining systems and contains sufficient design elements to assist operators with problems in testing or implementing new control procedures.
