Description:The objective of this investigation was to develop a manual for the design, construction, and maintenance of vertical and inclined ore pass systems for use in underground haulage from open pit mines. The work included an extensive information search, novel anayses in rock flow theory, cost and time estimation for shaft and raise construction methods, and development of design criteria for the ore pass proper, dump point, and draw point.
