Description:This chapter summarizes a number of incidents involving fire fighters falling from elevated devices such as aerial ladders and aerial platforms, from fire escapes, and from the top of fire apparatus. These incidents were investigated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program of the Division of Safety Research located in Morgantown, West Virginia.
