In 2012 there were 216,400 Illinois workers employed in the transportation and warehousing industry. 2012 Fatal Injury Facts: 32 fatal injuries occurred in the Illinois transportation and warehousing industry in 2012. 2012 Nonfatal Injury Facts: Transportation and Warehousing 69.7% of injured workers were male. 45-54 year olds was the most common age group with reported injury (24%). Rates of injury were highest in businesses' with 1000+ workers (8.3). Air transporta..on had the highest rates of nonfatal injury or illness (9.8). The back was the most common affected body part.
