Exposure Assessment for the Global Burden of Occupational Injuries

  As part of the WHO project on Comparative Risk Assesssment (CRA) of the major risk factors contributing to the Global Burden of Disease and Injuries, we have estimated probability of exposure to potentially hazardous conditions which may result in occupational injuries, by gender and CRA region. (CRA regions are comprised of countries with similar geography, epidemiology, infrastructure and economic situations.) According to the CRA methodology, estimates of exposure prevalence to a specific risk factor are combined with the associated relative risks to estimate the resulting attributable fraction of deaths and/or disabilities.
