Description:In 2005, NIOSH, Ancon Marine Consultants and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted 10 evaluations of carbon monoxide (CO) emissions and exposures on express cruisers with gasoline-powered drive and generator engines. This article discusses the results of these evaluations and provides a description of the environmental sampling performed, along with information to develop engineering controls that can reduce co exposures on express cruisers.
