Description:If you're interested in a really dangerous occupation, forget about becoming a fighter pilot, police officer, or lion tamer. The real, everyday dangers lie in those occupations we don't tend to equate with risk. It might surprise you to learn that the top three most hazardous occupations per capita in the United States are mining, farming, and construction. Then again, if you've visited a construction site lately, those facts may not come as such a shock. They certainly don't surprise Dr. Phil Bigelow, a Colorado State University assistant professor working to improve safety conditions for construction workers. [Description provided by NIOSH]
