Developing an Environmental Management Curriculum Within a Safety Management Graduate Program

  This article describes a Safety Management Training Program at the master's level, which has expanded its curriculum to include environmental content. Overall vision of the Environmental Program is summarized, as well as the objectives of two courses now on stream: Environmental Management Systems (focus on ISO 14001) and Energy-Environmental Impacts. The authors believe that a number of other graduate safety training programs may be considering a similar expansion of scope. They explain the rationale behind this trial program in hope that this framework can be used by others in the safety community. [Description provided by NIOSH]
