This conference focused on molecular mechanisms of metal toxicity and carcinogenesis. Itwas attended by over 125 academic, industry, and government scientists from 13 countries. This conference was an extension of the previous two that were held at the same location in 2000 and 2002.We plan to organize the next conference in September 2006 in Morgantown, West Virginia. We would like to thank the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for financial support of this conference. We would also like to thank Elementis Chromium, Corpus, TX, Nickel Producers Environmental Research Association, Durham, NC, and Nutrition 21, Inc., Purchase, NY for financial support. We express our appreciation to the conference participants and those assisted for the organization and implementation of the conference and in the publication of this focused issue. We wish to thank the sponsors, conference organizers and attendees for their support and participation and their continued interest in making it a great success. We believe this publication on some of the important studies presented at the conference will be of great value to the scientific and biomedical community and will promote greater interest in the field of metal toxicity and carcinogenesis.
