Description:Active surveillance of agricultural injuries in six Kentucky counties continues as part of the Community partners for Health Farming (CPHF) Project. The counties are in two regions: Barren River (Barren and Warren) and Buffalo Trace/Gateway (Bracken, Fleming, Mason and Rowan ). The Occupational Health Nurses in Agricultural Communities, which collected similar data between 1992 and 1996 served as a model for CPHF. The surveillance data collected since 1997 have been used to describe and identify trends in agricultural injury. In addition , the community-based nature of the project has fostered the implementation of many interventions in the region. [Description provided by NIOSH]
