Description:A review of the Midwest Occupational Safety and Health Center, one of twelve regional NIOSH funded Educational Resource Centers (ERC) is presented. Five functional areas; program, faculty, research, continuing education, and outreach of the consortium of programs at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus and Duluth Campus, Mayo Clinic, Saint Paul Ramsey Medical Center and the Institute of Agricultural Medicine and Environmental Health at the University of Iowa are reviewed. The authors conclude that the ERC formed by a consortium of educational units has an impact and influence on a larger geographical area than a single campus ERC, as well as being cost effective.
