Description:Absorption of pesticides was investigated by analyzing the excretion of the parent compound or appropriate metabolites in urine samples to develop an analytical method for monitoring human exposure to chlorobenzilate (510156). Urine was collected from treated rats and citrus grove workers for chromatographic analysis. The 4,4'-dichlorobenzophenone (90982) (DBP) oxidized metabolite averaged less than 0.01 parts per million (ppm) in predose rats and non-exposed human urine samples. DBP residues were calculated back to the ppm chlorobenzilate by multiplying DBP by 1.29 and dividing by the milligram urine equivalents injected. The 4,4'-Dichlorobenzilic acid fortified urines (at 0.05ppm) from non-exposed humans that were analyzed with citrus worker sample, resulted in recoveries that averaged 97 percent.
