Description:An electrodiagnostic study to determine the neurotoxicity in animals of methyl-n-amyl-ketone (110430) (MAK) is reported. Eight monkeys and 50 rats in each of the two groups were exposed to MAK at 100ppm and 1000ppm for 6 hour a day, 5 days a week, for 9 months. Electrodiagnostic methods revealed no measurable signs of neurotoxicity in the animals at either MAK exposure, and no changes in body weights. Gross pathology and histopathology indicated no adverse effects of MAK. It was concluded that MAK does not possess the neurotoxic properties found in methyl-n-butyl-ketone (591786).
