Acute and chronic effects of exposure are discussed. Vinyl-cyclohexene-dioxide is irritating to the eyes and skin of rabbits. It can cause acute respiratory tract irritation and congestion of the lungs. It has been associated with testicular atrophy, leukopenia, and necrosis of the thymus. Several studies have demonstrated the carcinogenicity of vinyl-cyclohexene-dioxide in rodents. Vinyl-cyclohexene-dioxide also inhibits the growth of Walker cell carcinoma in rats. No studies have been encountered on the effects of this compound on humans. There is no threshold limit value nor are there other exposure standards. [Description provided by NIOSH]
