It can cause acute respiratory tract irritation and congestion of the lungs. It has been associated with testicular atrophy, leukopenia, and necrosis of the thymus. Several studies have demonstrated the carcinogenicity of vinyl-cyclohexene-dioxide in rodents. Vinyl-cyclohexene-dioxide also inhibits the growth of Walker cell carcinoma in rats.
