Description:Rates for all deaths between 1960 and 1967 for coronary heart disease, endocarditis, myocardial degeneration, hypertensive cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, cardiovascular diseases and total diseases of the cardiovascular system are compared in a demographic study of the black Ohio residents divided into Ohio-born residents and immigrants from other regions of the United States. The blacks born in the South are found to have a markedly higher age-adjusted death rate (ages 45-64) than those born in Ohio in each of the categories of cardiovascular diseases studied.
