Description:The program designed to complete the existing industrial health standards, in compliance to the conceptual changes of preventive industrial hygiene introduced by the Occupational Safety and Health Act, through a coordinated effort by NIOSH and OSHA, is outlined. The objective of the program is the completion of existing workroom level standards and covers approximately 400 chemical substances. The functions of the NIOSH/OSHA working groups cover information, engineering, analysis, medicine, safety, regulation writing, feasibility, and program management. [Description provided by NIOSH]
