• Description:
  This report presented the quarterly surveillance data from state based Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology and Surveillance programs for the second quarter of 1993. Adjustments were made to exclude multiple counts of persons received during the quarter which would reflect follow up or repeat blood specimens and report the highest blood lead (7439921) level obtained during the reporting period. Such refinements will assist in preparing appropriate prevention efforts. During this second quarter there were 4,053 reports of blood lead levels between 25 and 39 micrograms/deciliter (microg/dl) involving 1,975 persons. There were 1,061 reports of blood lead levels between 40 and 49microg/dl involving 442 persons. There were 257 reports of blood lead levels between 50 and 59micrograms/dl involving 120 persons, and there were 161 reports of blood lead levels over 60microg/dl involving 77 persons.
